Through the workshops, MFI has become a major producer of independent works (short films, documentaries, animation and experimental) contributing to a rich diversity of cinematic expressions.

MFI recognizes the need to elevate the standards of film appreciation in the country through a specialized Mobile Cinema. Unlike previous Mobile Cinema workshops conducted by MFI, wherein it targets local government units and communities, it also focuses on colleges and universities offering Commission on Higher Education (CHED) accredited Mass Communication degrees; and under the subject MAKABAYAN for elementary and high school students.
The reformatted project combines film screenings with basics of film language coupled with Filipino culture. Another aspect is the introduction to basic
